Tom Harris

Tom Harris is director and founder of Third Avenue Communications. For 14 years, until the 2015 general election, he represented Glasgow South as its Labour MP, and was the longest-serving railways minister in the last Labour government. He also served as Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to senior ministers at the Northern Ireland Office and the Department of Health, as a member of the Transport and Science & Technology select committees, and as a Shadow Environment Minister in opposition.

Before entering politics, Tom trained as a journalist and worked at a number of local newspapers before entering public relations, initially for the Scottish Labour Party and subsequently for local government and Strathclyde Passenger Transport (SPT).
