Absent Minds – A discussion

Event Date:

Attendance & Absence in Scotland’s Schools

On Thursday 26 October the Commission on School Reform published a new report, Absent Minds, highlighting a worrying increase in pupil absence.  We were delighted to host this discussion event to coincide with the publication of the report. The panel included:

  • Alison Payne, Research Director of Reform Scotland
  • Lindsay Paterson, Emeritus Professor of Education at the University of Edinburgh and member of the Commission on School Reform
  • Carole Ford, former headteacher and chair of the Scottish Secondary Mathematics Group, and Commission on School Reform member
  • Kate Forbes, SNP MSP and former Scottish Finance and Economy Secretary.

The discussion was chaired by Keir Bloomer, chair of the Commission on School Reform.
