‘Scotland could make £2billion a year exporting green electricity, claims think tank’ – Record

SCOTLAND could earn £2billion a year exporting electricity but only if energy policy is fully devolved from Westminster, a think tank claim.

Reform Scotland made the forecast in a report published today. They claim the country could become a world-leader in wind and wave energy.

Reform Scotland’s Graeme Blackett said: “The Scottish Government was right to encourage the acceleration of renewable energy generation by increasing the 2020 renewables target to 100 per cent of Scottish electricity demand.”
